Adult Hockey Leagues
Our adult hockey league is for men and women. All players must be age 18 or older. We currently have two leagues, A/B League and Rec League. The Galactic Ice Adult Hockey League is designed to provide a safe and sportsmanlike environment in which hockey players of all abilities can enjoy the competition and camaraderie of organized hockey. It is based upon respect for one’s opponent, the officials, and the game. Galactic Ice does not embrace a “win at all costs” attitude and will not be tolerated. The league thanks those of you who are currently playing in the spirit of the league, and we would ask everyone who plays here to strive toward that.
- A/B League – Players who have played a long time and enjoy a competitive atmosphere.
- Rec League – Players new to hockey, usually played after a Learn to Play Clinic ends.
Player Eligibility
- Players must be age 18 or older
- Players must registered and sign the online waiver
- Players must play in the correct league, no exceptions
Adult League Format
- Cost is $200 per player – select your team (or free agency) from the list made available during the registration process.
- A $15.00 drop in fee is available for players who cannot commit to an entire season.
- All fees are non-refundable
- Games are played on Sundays and Tuesdays
- Goalies are free—goalies cannot skate out unless they pay the $15 fee
- 20 game season
- 3—17 minute periods, running clock
- 3 minute warm up
- 1 minute intermissions
- 2 minute penalties
- No time-outs
- Stop clock last minute, if 2 goals apart
- All full season paid players are playoff eligible
- All drop-in ($15 per game) players must play 6 games in a season to be playoff eligible, no exceptions
- 2 points for a win, 1 for a shoot out loss
- If the game ends in a tie, a 3 player SO will commence. If a playoff game, a full period will commence.
Rink Rules
- Locker room cleanliness is the teams’ responsibility.
- Teams will spend no longer than 30 minutes in locker rooms from completion of their game.
- NO player is permitted to step on the ice until the Zamboni doors are closed. Any violation of this rule will result in your team starting with a 4 minute penalty.
Rules & Regulations
- Sign in on the score sheet every game, or no credit will be given
- No checking—whether intentional or not, will result in a penalty
- No one is allowed on the ice until the Zamboni doors are closed. Failure to comply will result in a 4 minute penalty
- Players must wear a half shield/cage
- Same colored jerseys are required
- Jerseys must be numbered and match the sign in sheet
- Players who receive 3 penalties in 1 game will be ejected from that game
- Galactic Ice reserves the right to move players
- Each team must have 5 players and a goalie, or 6 player to start the game. If you do not have the required players, the clock will start following the 3 minute warm-up. If your team still does not have the required players after 5 minutes of play, your team forfeits.

Learn to Play Hockey – Adults (16+)
Spring 2022
The Galactic Ice Adult Learn to Play Hockey program is for those who have never played hockey before or for those who have very little experience. This program is the first step to entering adult league hockey. Each week participants will progress on the basics of the forward and backward skating stride, stopping, puck control, passing and shooting. Each practice is designed for players to practice their skills at their own pace. Team play will also be introduced through small area games in a fun and encouraging environment.
There will be a Beginner and an Advanced class. No experience is necessary, however full equipment is required.
Day and Time: Mondays from 7:00 – 7:50 PM
Session 1: April 4, 11, 18, 25 and May 2, 9
Session 2: TBA
Cost per player: $125.00
All programs will have a set schedule. There will be no refunds for missed sessions.
