Learn to Skate –

Learn basic through advanced skating skills in our Galactic Ice Learn To Skate Program. Our program is based on the Learn To Skate USA Programs that are used worldwide. The programs have accepted standards and provide achievable objectives with immediate results. Your initial skating level and class placement will be based upon your abilities when first entering the program and your advancement through several levels of curriculum will be determined by established standards of performance for all maneuvers at all levels. Advancement is based upon individualized evaluations, so you can learn at your own pace.

Snowplow Sam 1 - 4

(Ages 3-6)

This program is for children with no prior skating experience. These classes are designed to help children develop the ABC’s of movement – Agility, Balance, Coordination, and Speed.

Basic 1 - 6

(Ages 7+)

Teaches the FUNdamentals of skating and provides the best foundation for figure skating & hockey. The levels introduce forward & backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, & turns.

Hockey 1-4

(Beginners)

Teaches skaters the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and other necessary fundamentals to be successful in hockey practices and game situations.

Pre/Free Skate 1 - 6

Teaches a variety of progressive skating skills, transitions, spins, and jumps.

Power Skating

This program is for the more advanced hockey skater

Adults 1 - 6

Helps to promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques

FAMILY Learn to Skate Group Lessons:

Family Lessons are where you and your child can take lessons at the same time!

  • Must include ONE adult, and ONE child.
  • Lessons are Mondays at 6:30pm, or Saturdays at 12:30pm.
  • They run the same dates as the regular LTS classes.
  • No hidden fees!

Extra Information

  • *Cost is dependent on level. A $17.00 registration fee is due July 1 – June 30 of each year, per Learn to Skate USA. No Exceptions.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class start time
  • Wear comfortable layers with long sleeves and water repellent pants, (snow pants recommended for tiny tots), gloves or mittens.
  • We have a limited amount of helmets. Bike helmets may be worn.
  • No double runner blades.

 

  • Additional Family Members receive a 50% discount. (Registration fee is still $17.00 per skater)
  • Only one discount applies. (Early Bird, Sibling, etc)
